Branford Community Gardens hopes that everyone is excited for a growing season filled with healthy, locally grown organic produce. BCG is a resource open to Branford residents who wish to grow plants for their friends and family and support those in need within our community through the Seed, Weed and Feed program (SWF).
Since 2009, SWF has been growing produce that is delivered to the Branford Food Pantry and Community Dining Room on a weekly basis. The 50′ x 50′ plot is carefully planned and managed to produce food throughout the growing season. Preparation begins in the late fall with the planting of garlic and proceeds in early spring with cold weather greens and summer/fall with a wide variety of vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, Swiss chard, squash and many others. SWF is maintained entirely by volunteers and BCG is proud to provide fresh produce to our neighbors in need.
