About BCG

Branford Community Gardens, Inc., established in 2009, is an all-volunteer organization, dedicated to the promotion of locally grown, organic produce. Our garden site is on Board of Education property at 16 Birch Road, and comprises 22 individual plots for rent – fourteen 20’ x 20’ plots and eight 10’ x 20’ plots.

All produce from an additional 50’ x 50’ plot is donated to families in need in Branford. We have a robust volunteer corps dedicated to this Seed, Weed and Feed (SWF) endeavor.

The experience level of our gardeners ranges from novice to expert. We have become a real family since our first year – sharing our experiences and expertise. And, of course, enjoying and sharing the produce!

We hold two fundraisers each year, the first in May when we sell organically grown seedlings, native plants and flowers with the Branford Garden Club, and September when we sell produce grown in the garden and flower arrangements with the Branford Garden Club. Please follow our Facebook page for dates, times and opportunities to volunteer.

Please contact us for our 2026 planting season.

Participation in Branford Community Gardens, Inc. is open to Branford residents. You must be 18 years old to rent a plot. The organization is non-profit, non-partisan and non-discriminatory.
